Companies working with Iran are obliged to negotiate their contracts with US authorities
The US government demanded that Cargill and Bunge agricultural corporations, exporting soybeans, corn and wheat to Iran, negotiate contracts with them that they signed with the Iranian side, a Kommersant’s diplomatic source said.
“The US Treasury Department explained that the corporation’s deliveries are not humanitarian and violate the sanctions imposed on Tehran. Previously concluded transactions will be subjected to verification, ”said a source. He added that some European banks, which until now had cooperated with these corporations, refuse to carry out transactions with deliveries to Iran. According to the source, they fear to get into the "black lists". We are talking about the Dutch ABN AMRO, the Danish Danske Bank, the German DZ Bank, and the Belgian KBS Bank.
“In this regard, the unloading of 16 large-capacity ships with grain stopped in the two main Iranian ports of Bandar Abbas and Bandar Khomeini. Other exporters began sending goods to the UAE, ”said a source. He believes that Washington’s task is “to aggravate the already difficult socio-economic situation in Iran and provoke popular discontent in this way”.
Recall, on November 6, the United States introduced the second package of anti-Iran sanctions. 700 items were added to Washington’s blacklist, and an embargo on Iranian oil was introduced.
