Russia harvested nearly 90 mln tonnes of grains — Ministry of Agriculture
As of September 5, Russian agrarians harvested grains and pulses throughout the areas of 31.1 mln ha, or 66.4% of the forecast. The production volumes reached 89.9 mln tonnes of grains (in 2018 — 82.4 mln tonnes), with the average yield of 2.9 t/ha (in 2018 — 2.83 t/ha), declared the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation on September 6.
In particular, agrarians harvested 63.7 mln tonnes of wheat throughout 19.8 mln ha (70.7%), with the yield of 3.21 t/ha. Also, Russia harvested 17.9 mln tonnes of barley throughout 6.9 mln ha (78.1%), with the yield of 2.61 t/ha.
Russian agrarians harvested corn for grain throughout 94.8 thsd ha, or 3.7% of the forecast. The production volumes totaled 461.9 thsd tonnes, with the yield of 4.87 t/ha. Krasnodar Krai started harvesting rice, and produced 43.7 thsd tonnes of the grain. The harvested areas reached 6.8 thsd ha, with the yield at 6.43 t/ha.
At the same time, agrarians already harvested sunflower seed throughout 452.5 thsd ha (5.3%), and produced over 1 mln tonnes of the oilseed, with the average yield at 2.27 t/ha.
Agrarians continued harvesting rapeseed, and as of September 5 the areas reached 428.8 thsd ha (27.5%). The production volumes reached 856 thsd tonnes, with the yield of 2 t/ha.
In addition, Russia harvested soybeans throughout 444.2 thsd ha (14.5%), and produced 905.4 thsd tonnes of the oilseed, with the yield of 2.04 t/ha.
At the same time, Russian agrarians harvested 6.9 mln tonnes of sugar beet throughout 161.3 thsd ha (14.1%), with the yield of 42.92 t/ha.
As of the reporting date, Russia already planted winter crops for the harvest-2020 throughout 5 mln ha, or 28.7% of the forecast.
