Kazakhstan harvested nearly 6 mln tonnes of grains — Ministry of Agriculture

As of September 6, Kazakh agrarians harvested grains and pulses throughout the areas of 5.244 mln ha, against 3.061 mln ha on the same date last year, which reached 34.4% of the plan (15.23 mln ha), reported the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

At the same time, the production volumes of grains totaled 5.977 mln tonnes (in 2018 — 4.136 mln tonnes), with the average yield of 1.14 t/ha (1.35 t/ha).

In particular, the following oblasts of the country provided the major harvesting works of grain crops: Akmola oblast harvested the largest volumes of grains — 1.011 mln tonnes throughout 21.9% of the planned areas, as well as North Kazakhstan oblast — 919.1 thsd tonnes (22%), Jambyl oblast — 763.7 thsd tonnes (94.6%), Almaty oblast — 701.3 thsd tonnes (71.5%), and Kostanay oblast — 661.4 thsd tonnes (34.9%).
