USA: harvesting winter wheat is 2 times faster than a year ago
According to the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), as of June 14, 50% of winter wheat sowings were rated “good-excellent” (51% a week ago and 64% a year ago). According to the agency Grain On-Line with reference to the official website of the USDA.
The heading stage included 91% of winter wheat crops (87% a year ago and 94% on average over 5 years). Harvested 15% of the harvest (7% a year ago and 15% on average over 5 years).
Sowing spring wheat completed. 95% of crops sprouted (92% a year ago and 97% on average over 5 years). The heading stage included 4% of crops (2% a year ago and 8% on average over 5 years). The condition of 81% of spring wheat crops was assessed as “good-excellent” (82% a week ago and 77% a year ago).
Sowing corn is completed. 95% of crops were grown (74% a year ago and 92% on average over the previous 5 years). The condition of 71% of the corn crops was rated “good-excellent” (75% a week ago and 59% a year ago).
