Russian wheat prices continue to decline, but remain higher than last year
Prices for Russian wheat on the world market continue to decline, but remain above the values of this period last year, follows from monitoring of the analytical center of JSC Rusagrotrans.
According to the center, for the week from June 18 to 25, export prices for Russian wheat (12.5% protein) of the new crop for July delivery fell by $ 3.5 per ton, to $ 198. A year earlier, the new crop was sold at $ 192 per ton.
“But the contracts for July have already been concluded for the most part. Quotations for delivery in August remained unchanged at $ 195-198 per ton,” the head of the center, Igor Pavensky, told Interfax.
The average current price for French wheat of a new crop is $ 204 per ton ($ 2 lower than a week earlier), Ukrainian - $ 198.5 per ton ($ 3 lower), American - $ 206 ($ 1 lower).
The wheat stock market continued to decline. July futures in Chicago fell to $ 176.8 per tonne (4.1% to close the previous week) on Friday, September futures in Paris dropped to $ 201.7 per tonne (2.3%). .
On the Russian market, the purchase prices of new wheat (grade 4, protein 12.5%) in deep-sea ports during the week fell by 300 rubles, to 12,400-12,800 rubles per ton. Last year, they averaged 10,500 rubles per ton. Low water purchase prices - 12,000-12,100 rubles, last year they amounted to 10,000 rubles per ton.
Commenting on the situation in the domestic wheat market, Pavensky said that so far it remains in the transition period between the new and old crops. In the center of the country, the price levels of the new crop are about 10,500-10,900 rubles per ton (EXW excluding VAT). In the southern regions, where the harvesting of a new wheat crop has begun, the demand prices are 11 300-11 900 with delivery to the elevator. The price range of the new barley crop, whose mass harvesting in the south began at the end of the second decade of June, is 9,500-10,300 rubles per ton (excluding VAT).
Estimated domestic wheat prices of a new crop for delivery to Novorossiysk by rail in August over the past week decreased slightly, amounting to 11,250 rubles per ton for the south, 10,500 rubles for the center, 10,000 rubles for the Volga region (Saratov), 9,000 rubles - for Siberia. Compared with the current prices of the old crop, the estimated prices for the new crop are lower by 2 800-3 450 rubles per ton.
