US Wheat: Price Reaches Five-Month High

On Tuesday, wheat contracts on the CBOT climbed to their highest level in the past five months amid rumors about possible purchases of wheat by Chinese importers. This is reported by the Grain On-Line agency.

Additional support for US wheat prices was provided by a weakening dollar and worsening crop prospects in Argentina and France.

September quotations of American wheat rose:

  • SRW soft wheat in Chicago by $ 4.23 to $ 204.20 / ton
  • durum wheat HRW in Kansas City by $ 4.78 to 177.65 $ / ton
  • durum wheat HRS in Minneapolis at $ 2.48 to $ 192.99 / ton.
